Another coincidence during my stay in Lebuh Ampang street is that my lodge was close to the Jamek Mosque. The mosque that is nicknamed “Friday Mosque” was built in 1909, and is located between Klang and Gombak River. It could be accessed through Tun Perak Street. Back then, the construction was funded by the Muslim community and British Colonists. Now, this Mosque has become one of Kuala Lumpur’s icon.
This recording is the recitation from the Jamek Mosque in the afternoon of March fourth 2019. The recitation was considerably fast, but had a very clear pronunciation. Why he read it so quickly is a mystery for me. It was different from the slowly Adzan at Sultan Mosque, Singapore.
